book review: the daniel cure

"The Daniel Fast Way to Vibrant Health.  One of the most popular fasts in recent years has been the Daniel Fast, a 21-day period of prayer and fasting based on the Old Testament prophet's fasts recorded in Daniel 1 and Daniel 10.  The Daniel Cure uses the Daniel Fast to launch you into your personal lifestyle of health, vitality and vibrant energy."  Authored by Susan Gregory and Richard J. Bloomer, PhD

mountain man and i talk frequently about how the enemy has sneaked into literally every area of life...including food.  many times we ask ourselves, "what does the Bible say about that?"

the Bible says a lot of food and fasting.  many people have done the Daniel Fast for spiritual reasons only to realize that it affected their health in a positive way.  It has been known to lower cholesterol, balance blood sugars, help maintain a healthy weight etc.  is it any wonder that when we do things the Lord's way good things start happening??

we personally have done the Daniel Fast and were surprised by how good we felt and how easy it was to follow.  i loved that i had most everything needed in the pantry already so it wasn't expensive.  i was very interested to see what The Daniel Cure was all about.  Summed up it is taking the 21 day Daniel Fast and applying to every day of life.  A lifestyle makeover if you will {hello New Year}.  this is NOT a diet.

Daniel and his men were stronger physically, mentally and spiritually after abstaining from meats, rich foods and sweets and i daresay the same holds true for today.

this book is full of recipes, a devotion and even medical studies for those who like that sort of thing.  one of the things i like about the Daniel Cure is the flexibility to OCCASIONALLY eat a cheeseburger or a dessert...i'm a big fan of moderation or a happy medium...especially now that i'm pregnant...giggle.

as it states in the book, "the key to your success {for the Daniel Cure} is to adopt an approach that includes natural, unprocessed foods - whether plant based or not.  changing the lifelong habits of the way you eat will take time and commitment.  but keep your eyes on the goal and the life-changing benefits of clean eating."

one thing is certain, when you look around at the general population they are overfed and undernourished.  they are sick and tired and guess what?  they are sick and tired of it!  my recommendation?

go back to the bible and see what the Creator Himself says about food, fasting and health.  i would LOVE to see what would happen if thousands of people committed to this new lifestyle.

thank you booksneeze for this complimentary copy in exchange for an open honest review of the Daniel Cure.
