convoy...of hope.

Mother Teresa looked at him and asked "what are you doing to help the poor?"

his answer?  not much.

the good thing is the founder of convoy of hope and his brother decided to do something about it!  {they were raised in a challenging environment after their father was killed in a wreck and their mama was injured so they know all about having needs.}

thousands of people are living in poverty.  their needs are very real and there's something we can do!

convoy of hope travels around the U.S. {and the world} and brings communities together to meet the needs of their people.   they also bring hope.

"Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life."
~Proverbs 13:12

they came to oklahoma this week...we have been preparing and advertising for months. today was the big day!!

because of convoy of hope:

20 plus churches came together.  they put their differences aside and served the Lord and their community together in unity.

800 volunteers were able to serve their community in a safe and fun atmosphere.

our town raised $30,000 in order to bless everyone with goodies...

free shoes for kids, backpacks full of school supplies, health screenings, groceries, resume assistance, hair cuts and much more!

i can honestly say i was a little leery of donating time or money to this cause because i had never seen it in person.  convoy of hope did not disappoint. they are extremely organized and the people they sent to help were awesome.  i was very impressed.

scout and i were stationed at one of the many jupiter jumps.  we literally helped hundreds of kids through.  thousands of people showed up today and no one left empty handed or without the chance to be prayed for.

it's funny...one always volunteers to be a blessing...but it is always the worker who is blessed beyond compare!

"If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday."
~Isaiah 58:10

if you ever have the chance to be a part of convoy of hope - go for it!! :)
