five years ago i was at least 1 1/2 weeks past my due date. i found myself at a fourth of july celebration in the oklahoma heat. people were looking at my huge belly trying to suppress their giggles and comments. some were even pointing. it was hot. i was ready to have this baby. chasing the girls around and/or waiting in the jupiter jump lines were not my idea of fun. but mountain man was there working and my mom was there and friends so it's not as bad as it sounds. i do stress the hotness and bigness however.
some mean storm clouds rolled in before the concert or fireworks so we loaded up in the car to take nana home around 9:30, i think. mountain man had to stay and help break down. but, i called him on the way home as we watched fireworks all around us from the highway and said, "uh...is there any way you can come home like, say, now? because i think i'm having contractions!" to make a very long story short, between the Lord, me, mountain man, a midwife and her helper trooper was born early on july 5th. he weiged 9 pounds even, the girls woke up that morning and there was their brother!
so, this boy we have been blessed with is something else. everyone voices their opinion that he's cute but they also can't help themselves from saying, "you know...your son REALLY has a personality." and i have to agree.
he is sensitive to others feelings and will quickly agree that yes, indeed, he is handsome, and his sisters are pretty, his mama too and his daddy is big...that's important you know. he even noticed and complimented on his aunt's pretty home. he loves camouflage, bugs, only garden snakes, rain boots and dislikes macaroni and cheese. i know, can you believe it? in fact his gives most "dinner" foods and thumbs down. maybe i should start serving stir-fry and lasagna for breakfast.

and he's ornery to boot. he loves to make us laugh just like the baby of the family should.
and it's hard to believe our baby is 5. blink, move across the country three times, look up and there he is...learning to put God first, his family second and everything else last. although i have to admit fishing is closing in at number 2.
trooper, we love you. you add something special and unique to our family. never quit dreaming, learning, growing and praying for God's will in your life. you will always be mama's
