seven years ago today marks the day our family of three turned into a family of four. and i've been thinking. a parent really doesn't know what they are going to get.
a sweet laid back baby or a wild strong willed child. one that is destined to be a leader or a person who is made to follow. and as parents, it's not our job to change them. we aren't supposed to mold them into what we want them to be. and, that can be hard. God already has a plan and purpose for them.
slowly, along this long parenting path, i've learned to watch our kids grow and become who they were created to be. to see their purpose and character develop before our eyes. do you see the life in her eyes? it takes my breath away.
it is an honor, blessing and an adventure to gently guide boo and watch her grow into a sweet, godly young lady.
she is a thinker and a helper. she is sympathetic and thoughtful. she loves details and is a very creative. she is a good listener, sensitive and loving. we talk about her wedding day and pray for her spouse. she loves her family and friends.
and she loves horses like nobody's business. happy birthday boo! we love you. we love being a part of your life and thank God for you every day, it is a priveledge to be your mama.

Happy Birthday BOO!!!! Wishing you many many many horses enjoy in your future :)

ReplyDeleteBeautiful words of wisdom. It can be hard as a parent to know how to parent, and guidance from our heavenly Father is the only way for our family as well.
Awww, Happy Belated Birthday Boo!!! She's beautiful! We train in the way they should go...w/ God's word and His help. The unique qualities He gives each child are used for His glory, when their little hearts are submitted to His authority over their unique personality traits. It's a beautiful thing to behold, watching God mold those hearts w/ proper guidance from their parents. God's ways are amazing!
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy Birthday!!!!
ReplyDeleteA little bit late but a VERY happy birthday none the less!! :)
ReplyDeleteWHOA! Thought about you this morning thinking, "I haven't heard from Mountain Mama for a while" so here I am....and the,'WHOA?' is because you are one hot looking Mama right after you had a baby. Sweet pictures for sure, love them!
ReplyDeleteHappy (belated!) birthday, dear girl!
ReplyDelete(Are you guys okay? Are the dreadful fires affecting you at all?)
I love this. You are so right, we don't know what we're going to get! I marvel every day at how different all my girls are. They grow up right here, in the same home, with the same parents, the same guidelines . . . and yet, they could not be more different! Thank you for the reminder to let them be. Happy {late} Birthday to your darling girl!
