the best part...

if you asked boo what the best part of Oklahoma City's National Cowboy Museum's kids weekend was she would say hands down: the chance to ride a pony as much as you want.  or, maybe it was the carriage ride.

while scout certainly enjoyed those things and she had a blast making butter, she loved the museum's indoor life size replica of an old western town.  it was very cool indeed.

and this guy enjoyed it all.  the bulls, the music and the abundance of cowboys.

and...being locked in "jail" was pretty sweet too!

             {does anyone else notice a ham, and i don't mean bacon?}

mountain man's favorite part, besides being with his rootin' tootin' family of course, was the food.  real cowboys cooking chuck wagon grub outside on campfires.  we had beans, cornbread, stew, peach rice, chili, fried potatoes and of course cobbler!  yum-o!

and my favorite was seeing how "it" all comes together.  for instance, someone called boo annie oakley due to her love of horses and such.  that led us to learn about annie.  my friend told me about this festival which just so happen to have a historian who does an annie oakley show...complete with trick shooting!  time and time again, things come together and i just love it!

we highly recommend the National Cowboy Museum and Western Heritage Museum located in Oklahoma City if you're interested in those types of things.

next post, our trip to the mountains...in oklahoma!
