scripture & snapshot

the kids were playing with their grandma at her house so mountain man and i had a few minutes to ourselves.  we snuck off next door where he planted fruit trees a few years ago.

we had fun picking pears...picking the fruit that was produced by the seeds he sowed.  and we even stole some kisses under those fine pear trees. {surely i've grossed my little brother out now for sure!}  those pears will be canned and used in the coming winter months.

and now with Courageous the movie being out {go see it!} i can't help but think about parenting and how it relates.  we sow seeds into our kids. countless seeds, countless hours.  in order to yield the absolute best crop, we have to do it God's way...which will lead to fruit that will remain pest proof, weather resistant while becoming sweet and ready to be used by their creator.

yes...parenting is hard work.  parenting God's way is even harder work.  and it means you may not be the hippest, coolest, funnest parents on the block  but...the results?

the results will be amazing.  i promise.
