october giveaway: a challenge

"Love works.  It is life's most powerful motivator and has far greater depth and meaning than most people realize...we are born with a lifelong thirst for love.  Our hearts desperately need it like our lungs need oxygen.  Love changes our motivation for living.  Relationships become meaningful with it."

i was standing in line {not sure why} at the production office for "Courageous."  chatting to the woman behind me, who was also volunteering for Sherwood Pictures, led to a heartfelt moment.  she said something to the effect of "Fireproof saved our marriage.  That's why I'm here.  They are changing people's lives."

with 3 million copies in print in 23 languages it's true, stories from all over the world are still coming in about saved marriages, changed lives, people coming to know Christ...what could be any better than that?

in the movie Fireproof there was a 40 day challenge used, it's called the Love Dare and is for both husbands and wives.  and here is a copy of the book...SIGNED by Stephen and Alex Kendrick.

i saved this book to giveaway for this week, it's our anniversary week.  and i know most all of you will agree with me when i say that marriage is hard work...i may just be writing more about that soon.

this book is a challenge.  it's hard.  there is even a disclaimer in the beginning of the book!  i haven't done it yet due to the uh...circumstances in our lives at the moment...i can't take on one more challenge.  but, i will do it one day!

the giveaway will last one week and is open to anyone!  even if you live on the other side of the world!  please enter up to three times a person!

  1. We loved the movie! Some freinds did the love dare at their church, said it was great!

  2. I just heard a little interview with Alex Kendrick about him living out the principles of Facing the Giants and Fireproof. I'm with you about taking on another challenge.....

  3. The movie was amazing and came at the most perfect time for us in our marriage! What a blessing...would love to do this dare!

  4. Entered two times! I'm following you, and I created a post on facebook with the link back to the giveaway on your blog! :) Thanks, Brooke!

  5. The Love Dare is the perfect accompaniment for the movie "Fireproof." I really recommend watching the movie first and then beginning The Love Dare. The book is set up in easily read daily messages. They are only three to four pages long, so there is not a huge time commitment for reading. I think the key though is to read the entire daily step, rather than jumping to the actual "dare" at the end of each day's lesson.
